The GETS conference consists of plenary and session presentations and discussions on regulatory, governance, legal, political, social and ethical aspects of emerging technologies, including:

  • Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Metaverse;
  • Internet of Things (IoT), quantum computing, 3D printing, robotics;
  • nanotechnology, synthetic biology, gene editing, biotechnology, genomics, geoengineering;
  • neuroscience, digital health, personalized medicine, human enhancement technologies;
  • National Security, Surveillance Technologies, Cybersecurity, Technology and Privacy;
  • Autonomous vehicles, military technologies, autonomous weapon systems;
  • Blockchain, Cryptocurrencies, Algorithms, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Data Analytics;
  • And more!

The conference is founded on the belief that there is much to learn and share from and through the experience and governance proposals for these diverse emerging technologies.

Call for abstracts: Submitters of abstracts for proposed presentations do not need to provide a written article, although arrangements are made for the display and eventual publication of articles for those interested.

  • Abstracts are invited for any aspect or topic related to the governance of emerging technologies, including any of the technologies listed above;
  • Abstracts should not exceed 500 words and should contain your name and email address;
  • To be considered, abstracts must be submitted by Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

Sponsors will pay for conference registration (including all conference meals and events) for one presenter for each accepted abstract. Additionally, we will have limited funds available for travel grants (application included in submission form).
