The Edward Scissorhands actor also reflected on his early relationship with Amber and admitted she seemed ‘too good to be true’, although he was aware of things that “could be a bit of a dilemma at some point”.
He said: “Early on in my relationship with Ms Heard, from what I remember, it was like she was too good to be true.
“She was caring, she was loving, she was smart, she was kind, she was funny, she was understanding and we had a lot in common.
“During that year or year and a half, it was amazing, there were a few things that stuck in my mind that I noticed that I thought was a bit of a dilemma at some point.”
He recalled how Amber had developed a “routine” when he got home from work, in which she gave him a glass of wine and took off his boots, but when he once disrupted the ritual by taking off his own shoes, the “Danish Girl star became “visibly shaken” and upset.
He said: “Once you notice something like that, you start noticing other little tidbits and things coming out.
