Taylor LautnerThe wedding will likely include two special guests, and we’re not talking about Bella and Edward. The Dusk alum hopes to incorporate his and his fiancée Taylor DomeThe dogs of Remi, whom they adopted last year, and Lily, are entering their big day.
“We’ve just started talking about it. So we haven’t found anything. But I mean they’re technically a family member, so we’ll definitely have to find something special for them,” Lautner, who s is partnering with Hill’s Pet Nutrition to promote NBC’s Clear the Shelters campaign, said Parade.com.
However, seeing Remi and Lily walking down the aisle in bridesmaid outfits could potentially bring tears to the proud dog dad. “We tend to dress them up, yeah, without any occasion. We love seeing them in their cute little dresses. I probably couldn’t hold back my tears if I saw that,” Lautner confessed.
The actor proposed to Dome, a registered nurse, in November 2021. Lautner and his fiancée have since taken the time to enjoy their engagement and have yet to set a wedding date. “We’re still like we’re enjoying engagement time. We can only enjoy, you know, that little process once of calling each other engaged,” Lautner explained.
As he and Dome “take things day by day”, The ridiculous 6 The star revealed they were “starting the process” and he was involved in planning the wedding!
“I would say I’m more involved than most, I think, but me and Tay, one of the things we love the most is throwing parties and hosting people,” Lautner said. “I love doing that already, so I mean a wedding is like the grandest scale of that. So yeah, I’m super excited to be involved in it.”
As to whether there’s one thing he’d like to see at the wedding, Lautner got sentimental.
“As long as our loved ones, family and friends are here and as long as my bride shows up, I think it’s a win for me.”

How did you get involved with Hill’s Pet Nutrition and the Clear the Shelters campaign?
It felt so natural because it’s something that I and my fiancée are passionate about. When I met Tay, my fiancée, she already had a dog named Lily, which she rescued. Lily instantly became my best friend. We had Lily for a few years, and then about around this time last year, Tay brought up the “I think Lily could use a sibling” thing, [saying] “That would make her really happy.”
And I thought, “Really? Maybe she’d be happier as an only child.” And she was like, “No, no, she would like a brother.”
She started sending me pictures of puppies at local shelters…And then she sent a picture of Remi and my heart sank for her and I heard her story of her and her seven brothers and sisters and their mother abandoned in a field when they were puppies. I was just like, “Yeah, we have to go get her right now.”
So we rescued Remi this time last year and the two together have completely changed our lives, which is why I’m teaming up with Hill’s Pet Nutrition to support NBCUniversal Local’s Clear the Shelters campaign this month, including I’m just super passionate about.

Was Rémi your first rescue?
Yeah, Remi is technically my first rescue. Lily would have belonged to Tay. But I just have to get into it. But Remi is my first personal rescue.
What advice would you give to people who want to adopt a dog?
I would just say that now more than ever, you know, animals in our local shelters could use adoption because in the last five months of this year there have been more animals coming in – much more coming in than outgoing.
I would just say that in my personal experience, Remi and Lily have changed my life so much for the better. I don’t know what I would do without them, and if anyone feels ready to be a pet parent, I’d say check out your local shelters. Find someone who will become a member of the family, like Remi and Lily did for us. If you want it really easy, just go to HillsClearTheShelters.com as they have tons of information and tools you need to make sure you find the perfect pet.
What is the most rewarding part of being a pet parent for you?
I feel like you hear that with everyone who adopts, but it’s so true – it’s like Remi is the happiest dog in the world, and you can just feel how grateful they are. That for me is by far the most rewarding part, just feeling from her how much she loves us and how much she loves this life. And honestly, it makes me want to live more like this.
I saw your fiancée Taylor’s video of her childhood crush, which was hilarious. What was your reaction when you saw this?
I liked it. I loved it because it’s so funny because it’s true. She didn’t do it for the video. She was-has been!—the unyielding team Edward. So yeah, I was like, “This looks like an amazing video, you definitely should do this.” Yes, the reaction from people has been great, but I’m happy to say that I converted her. She went to the dark side or the light side, whatever you want to say. I won at the end. Alleluia!
Do you look at her Dusk movies together?
We never liked, we sat and watched them together. She was like a fan Dusk fan though… When they came out, she went to all like midnight premieres and stuff, and like everybody like watching the front four and then watching the new one, which is the engagement. In fact, we never sat down and watched them together. Maybe one day.

It’s so surprising! I feel like that would have been one of the first things for her: “We have to sit down, you have to give me all the secrets, behind the scenes.”
I say. Funny story is good the only time, but we weren’t watching it together, I hadn’t seen any of the movies since they came out. So what, 10 years ago? And she was working and we were in a hotel, and she came back from work and one of these chains [was] doing the whole marathon as if they were showing all the movies in a row, and I had already watched New Moon and I think Eclipse was on, and I was just alone in my bed watching it.
She came back and she said to me: “Uh, what are you doing?” And I was like, “I haven’t seen these things in 10 years. It’s kind of interesting, and they’re running a marathon.” So that’s the only time I’ve seen them since they came out.
Wow. Maybe your next date should be a Dusk movie marathon. It would be quite fun.
Maybe. I do not know. I don’t want her checking on Edward.
Apart from the wedding, what else are you working on these days? Any projects you can share with us?
I have a project that I’m producing with my best friend Jason Kennedy which I don’t know if I can say too much about right now, but it’s definitely a passion project and something that touches him and me, so I’m super excited about it. And then we also recently moved, and the wedding. So I would say between the move, the wedding and that, it definitely took up a good chunk of our time.
Over the past two years, we’ve seen so many reboots and spinoffs. Is there a character you’ve played that you’d like to see again in the future?
Yeah, that’s probably an unexpected answer, but the one I always wanted to bring back is that I did a movie called The ridiculous 6 with my friend Adam Sandler and a few other friends. I played a character there called Lil Pete. And it was a very, very fun experience and a crazy character. He’s the one that always comes back to me and I’m like, “I’d love to play Lil Pete again.”
